KYLIE LENFESTEY

Grade K4

Kylie Lenfestey is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and Clarks Summit University. She has spent several years working at after school programs, teaching children’s church, and serving at Living Waters Bible Camp. In her free time, Kylie enjoys reading, writing, baking, and riding horses.

KATY MACLEOD

Grade K5

Katy MacLeod has an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to study Elementary Education at UMaine Machias where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in College Studies. She is married and has two children, Nathaniel and Evelyn. Katy has a lot of experience working with children. She worked at the Washington County Children’s Program for two years, has volunteered at Vacation Bible School, is the head of the Nursery committee at Machias Valley Baptist Church, and taught Art and grades 3 & 4 from January through April at MVCS this past year. In her spare time you will see her enjoying time with family.

JENNY PALISANO

Grade 1

Jenny Palisano has her Master’s degree in Elementary Education: Learning and Technology and has worked on and off for the past 20 years as an assistant teacher or classroom teacher in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. She learned her joy for teaching from assisting her mother at her mom’s Mother's Day Out program growing up in Williamsburg, VA. Mrs. Palisano has also taught Sunday school classes here in Maine and Washington State, while moving with her husband’s job in the Coast Guard. In her free time she likes going on outdoor adventures with her husband and kids, playing with their Catahoula Leopard Dog Jed, drawing, camping, reading, gardening, and traveling around the country.

TAMRA LENFESTEY

Grades 2 & 3

Tamra Lenfestey, known to most students as Miss L, is passionate about teaching the Bible and impacting children’s lives.  She graduated from a Christian college in Pennsylvania and has had the opportunity to teach in public school for the past several years.  Miss L also enjoys participating in Children’s Ministry at church and serving through Christian summer camps.

JAYNE HATCH

Grades 4 & 5

Jayne Hatch has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has 23 years of experience teaching at schools in the Downeast area including grades Pre-K, 1, 3, 4, and 5 and also as a special education assistant. She retired four years ago, however, she is ready to serve our Lord by teaching about Him and academics to our children. Mrs. Hatch enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

RAMONA BOLDSEN

Ed. Tech., Music

Mrs. Boldsen has taught children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Good News Clubs for 40+ years! She is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and University of Maine at Machias with a degree in English and a minor in Secondary Education. She has substituted and volunteered in local schools on both elementary and high school levels. She was a teacher aide for two years in her home town before marriage. After that she taught K4 one year. She was also a one-on-one classroom aide for a student for two years. More recently, she taught grades 3 and 4 at MVCS. Mrs. Boldsen believes music is an important part of every child’s education. She has taught piano lessons off and on over the years since the mid-1970s. Starting in the 21-22 school year, she became the music teacher and Ed. Tech. at MVCS. She is married, has raised three daughters, and now has five grandchildren. Besides teaching, she enjoys writing, reading, singing, and playing the piano and ukulele.

JUNE ASHMORE

Administrator

Mrs. Ashmore has served as administrator for MVCS for 10 years. She has lived in Washington County all but two years and taught in public schools for 32 years. Mrs. Ashmore has one son and many cats. In her spare time, you can find her reading a book!

KARYSSA NORTON

Secretary

Karyssa Norton, known to students as Miss K, loves working with kids. She has been the Phys. Ed. teacher for Machias Valley Christian School since 2021. Before that opportunity, she spent four years as a counselor at an overnight summer camp as a bunk counselor and field sports counselor. Miss K has spent the last four years taking classes through Carolina College of Biblical Studies and will soon complete a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Theological Studies with a minor in Apologetics. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and going to the gym.
